Khammam: Kallur Municipality’s 18th ward councillor Pedakanti Krishnaiah lodged a complaint against Congress leaders for holding a press meet inside the municipal office and for protocol violations.
He met the sub-Collector Ajay Yadav on Monday and submitted a memorandum requesting strict action in connection with the issues he raised. He stated that Congress party leaders held a press conference at the municipal office on March 31, during which they levelled political criticism against BRS working president KT Rama Rao, contrary to the spirit of democracy.
Krishnaiah expressed strong objection to the use of the municipal office, meant for public service, as a venue for political activities. Further, in the flex banners erected as part of the ‘Praja Palana–Pragati Planana’ programme, photographs of Ministers, the Minister-in-Charge, Congress MPs and MLAs were displayed, while the photographs of Rajya Sabha members Vaddiraju Ravichandra and Bandi Parthasarathi Reddy, as well as MLC Tata Madhusudhan, were omitted.
He emphasised the need to maintain impartiality in programmes funded by the government, warning that such protocol violations could send misleading signals to the public. He appealed to the sub-Collector to conduct a comprehensive inquiry into the matter, take strict action against those responsible, and issue clear guidelines to prevent the recurrence of such incidents in the future.
