Hyderabad: Missing man murder case cracked, skeletal remains recovered

Hyderabad: A man who went missing from the outskirts of the city has been confirmed murdered, with Medipally police cracking the case after months of investigation.

The victim, identified as P Bakkayya (33), a resident of Ganesh Nagar in Chengicherla, had gone to work on December 30 last year and never returned.


After searching for him in all possible places, his family members lodged a missing complaint with the Medipally police, who booked a case and took up investigation on January 21 this year.

During the course of investigation, police detained suspects and upon interrogation, they confessed to killing Bakkayya.

Acting on their information, officials on Thursday have recovered skeletal remains packed in a bag near the Musi River Bridge at Korremula. They were sent for forensic examination.

Preliminary investigation revealed that a workplace dispute led to the murder.

The police are continuing further investigation to establish the sequence of events and gather additional evidence in the case.

The arrests are yet to be announced.
