Adilabad: Ten persons were arrested for betting on the cricket matches of Indian Premier Leagues (IPL) in Echoda mandal on Monday night. Three motorcycles, nine mobile phones and cash Rs 4,470 were seized from them.
Police said that Golusula Ajay, Dandugula Murali, Jadhav Ramu, Kamble Akash, Sidam Ravi, Kamble Raj Kumar, Kamble Arun, Dasanna, Seepelli Srinivas and Kamble Shashikumar, all from Echoda mandal were arrested, when police raided a colony following a tip-off.
Echoda Inspector Bandari Raju warned the public against indulging in betting on the IPL cricket matches. He said that stern action would be taken against those indulging in betting. He said a watch was kept on habitual offenders.
