Karimnagar: Residents of Gundlapalli of Thimmapur mandal on Sunday staged a dharna at Gundlapalli toll plaza demanding the authorities to take steps to prevent road accidents.
Vehicular traffic on Rajiv Rahadari came to a standstill for about two kilometres as villagers continued the protest for about half an hour.
Speaking on the occasion, agitating villagers said that road accidents were frequently taking place at Gundlapalli stretch due to lack of road dividers on Rajiv Rahadari.
Though they requested toll plaza authorities to arrange road dividers and barricades, there was no response. Villagers wanted the authorities to take steps to control road accidents by arranging dividers and barricades.
On being informed about the incident, LMD police visited the spot and convinced the agitating people to withdraw their protest.
