Mancherial: Gajelli Mohan, a social activist and lecturer at a government degree college in Bellampalli was honoured with national Ugadi Puraskaram 2026 instituted by Tara Arts Academy of Hyderabad for rendering outstanding services to the community for over 30 years.

He received the award from music director Gantadi Krishna and academy president Sanke Rajesh at a programme held in Godavarikhani on Sunday.


To his credit, Mohan took up social service programmes through various organisations such as Sanghamitra Youth Club, Jan Vignan Vedika, Lok Satta, Gnana Mitra, etc. He has been passionately creating awareness about literacy, ill-consequences of superstitions, protection of democracy, library management and various social problems along with promoting.

Mohan is the recipient of the State Best Social Worker, Blood Donor and State Best Citizen awards given by the Governor in the past. He was felicitated by Collectors for serving the needy and raising awareness among the public on a wide range of issues. He was congratulated by teachers and students of the college.
