A tiger identified as J-1 from Maharashtra has killed multiple cattle in Jagtial district. Forest officials deployed special teams to capture the animal, while warning residents as it continues to move across districts.

JAGTIAL: A tiger that killed two cows in Gangaram thanda of Kodimial mandal has been identified as J-1, which migrated from Thaneshwar in Maharashtra, forest officials said.
Visuals of the tiger feeding on its prey were captured by trap cameras installed in the area, where the big cat killed two cows on Saturday and Sunday.
According to Ravi Prasad, the cameras were set up anticipating that the tiger would return to the site. As expected, the animal revisited the spot on Monday night, and footage of it feeding was recorded.
Officials said J-1 has attacked at least three cattle in the district so far and had earlier moved through Rajanna-Sircilla and Yadadri-Bhuvanagiri districts.
On February 22, the tiger re-entered Jagtial district and attacked cattle in Dammannapeta and Mothkuraopet villages of Kodimial mandal. It later moved into Nizamabad district, where it was sighted in Kammarpally, Thallavagukunta and Sirikonda areas.
After returning once again, the tiger attacked a cow in Gangaram thanda on March 14.
Forest officials have deployed five special teams to track and capture the animal. Residents and farmers have been advised not to venture alone into forest areas or agricultural fields.
