SCB approves revised FSI norms for Secunderabad Cantonment

The Secunderabad Cantonment Board approved revised FSI restrictions under the Draft Building Bye-laws 2024. The norms, ranging from 1.80 to 2.20 depending on plot size, will come into force after approval from the Principal Director, Defence Estates, Southern Command.

SCB approves revised FSI norms for Secunderabad Cantonment

Hyderabad: The Secunderabad Cantonment Board (SCB) officials gave their nod to implement revised draft floor space index (FSI) restrictions in the Secunderabad Cantonment, as part of the draft building bye-laws-2024.

President Cantonment Board Brigadier S Rajeev, SCB chief executive officer Arvind Kumar Dwivedi, civilian nominated member Banuka Naramada and Cantonment MLA (special invitee) N Sri Ganesh gave their consent for the FSI restrictions, after discussing at the Board meeting held here on Saturday.


SCB chief executive officer Arvind Kumar Dwivedi briefed the key resolutions, including building bye-laws, which were approved by the Board members, to the media.

After certain modifications were made in the draft building bye-laws, the agenda was put forth at the meeting. Accordingly, the Board passed revised FSI restrictions, said the SCB official.

According to the resolution, the FSI norm fixed a range of 1.80 and 2.20 metres, depending on the plot area in square metres. For instance, below 50 sq metres, the FSI is fixed at 2.20 metres; for 51 to 300 sq metres, the FSI is 2.20 metres; for 301 to 750 sq metres, the FSI is 2 metres; for 751 to 1000 sq metres, the FSI is 1.80 metres; and for 1000 sq metres and above, the FSI is 1.80 metres, said the CEO.

The resolution of the draft building bye-laws will be forwarded to the PDDE, Southern Command, for final approval. Once approval is cleared, the new FSI norm will come into force for the property owners of the Secunderabad Cantonment, added the CEO.
