Ghalibaf ridicules US fake news for manipulating energy price

In a post on his X account late on Friday, he wrote, “They’ve spammed so much fake news trying to push energy prices down that the market’s just numb now.”

“Keep going, nobody’s buying it anymore. The real prices will show up anyway,” Ghalibaf continued.

He added, “Powerful? Maybe. But Smart? Not even close. Burned that fake news card way too early,” suggesting attempts to influence prices have backfired.

Iran has tightened its restrictions on shipping via the Strait of Hormuz, which is responsible for a fifth of the global oil demand.
