T-SRDA condemns assault on pediatrician in Nirmal

Hyderabad: Telangana Senior Residents Doctors Association (T-SRDA) on Friday condemned the assault on pediatrician, Dr Santosh Raj, at a private hospital in Nirmal.

“Preliminary reports indicate that the incident arose following a disagreement related to billing, which unfortunately escalated into an act of physical violence by a group of attendants. During the episode, both the treating doctor and hospital personnel were subjected to assault and intimidation. Such incidents are highly distressing and reflect a growing threat to the safety of healthcare providers,” a statement from T-SRDA on Friday said.

Doctors and healthcare workers function in high-pressure environments, often dealing with critically ill patients and emotionally strained families. Acts of violence not only jeopardize the well-being of medical staff but also compromise patient care and disrupt the functioning of healthcare facilities, Senior Residents said.

The TSRDA demanded prompt investigation, identification of all individuals involved and strict enforcement of legal provisions against those responsible for the attack on the doctor.
