A man and a woman went missing after their motorcycle plunged into the SRSP canal near Jagtial while returning from a temple. The police launched a search operation to trace the duo swept away by water.

Jagtial: A man and a woman went missing after a motorcycle plunged into the SRSP canal near Peddapur in Metpally mandal on Thursday evening. The woman was reportedly learning to drive the motorcycle when it plunged into the canal.
According to police, the victims, identified as Ankush Vittal and Bodasu Lavanya, had visited the ISKCON temple near Peddapur earlier in the day.
While returning after darshan, Lavanya was riding the motorcycle, reportedly learning to drive, with Vittal assisting her. The vehicle accidentally veered off the road and fell into the canal, following which both were swept away by the current.
Vittal, a native of Maharashtra, was working as a driver in Metpally, while Lavanya hails from Vellulla. Police said the two were friends.
On receiving information, police rushed to the spot and launched a search operation.
