Hyderabad: Amidst elaborate security arrangements, the annual Sri Rama Navami Shobha Yatra in the city on Friday witnessed a massive turnout of devotees and amidst elaborate security arrangements.

The procession began from Seetarambagh, where Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla attended as the chief guest and formally inaugurated the rally. Thousands of devotees joined the Shobha Yatra, with the crowd swelling steadily as it progressed.

The procession moved through Bhoiguda Kaman, with participants chanting devotional hymns and engaging in cultural performances. Decorated idols, traditional displays, and spiritual fervour added colour and vibrancy to the event.

The Shobha Yatra, which started from Akashpuri Hanuman Temple in Dhoolpet, passed through key areas including Seetarambagh, Mangalhat, Puranapul, Begum Bazaar, Afzalgunj, MJ Market and Putlibowli, before culminating at Hanuman Vyayamshala in Sultan Bazaar. The procession was led by local leaders, including T Raja Singh, along with several religious organisations.

Meanwhile, Hyderabad Police have made extensive arrangements to ensure the smooth conduct of the event. City Police Commissioner VC Sajjanar personally inspected the security setup in Seetharambagh earlier in the day. Over 3,000 police personnel were deployed, supported by CCTV surveillance, drones, and bomb disposal teams to monitor the situation around the clock.

Traffic restrictions and diversions were enforced at major junctions such as Begum Bazaar, Afzalgunj, MJ Market, and Koti to regulate vehicular movement.
