Hyderabad: An engineering student died by suicide in his hostel room at an engineering college premises in Ibrahimpatnam on Saturday.
The youth, identified as Kandimalla Sai (20), a native of Srirangapuram village in Nandigudem of Nalgonda district, was pursuing Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE) second year at the college.
According to the police, Sai, who was visibly upset over an unknown issue for the past few days, is suspected to have died by hanging from the ceiling fan inside his hostel room.
After being alerted by his friends, the police reached the spot and took up the investigation. No suicide note was found.
The police are investigating the case and speaking to the student’s family members and friends to determine the circumstances leading to his death.
