Hyderabad police have made elaborate security arrangements for the Sree Ramanavami Shobha Yatra on Friday, with around one lakh devotees expected to participate. The procession will pass through several localities before culminating at Hanuman Tekdi amid tight security.

Tight security for Sree Ramanavami Shobha Yatra in Hyderabad

Hyderabad: Elaborate security arrangements are made for the smooth conduct of Sree Ramanavami Shobha Yatra, to be taken out in the city on Friday.

The annual procession will commence from Seetharambagh temple, Asifnagar, and after passing through Mangalhat, Dhoolpet, Jummerat Bazaar, Begum Bazaar, Bartaan Bazaar, Siddiamber Bazaar, Gowliguda, Sultan Bazaar, culminates at Hanuman Vyamshala Grounds at Hanuman Tekdi.


Multiple processions will be taken out by various organisations, including the Sri Ram Yuva Sena of MLA T Raja Singh, and Sri Ramnavami Utsav Samithi, president Dr Bhagwath Rao. Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla is invited as Chief Guest for the programme.

Around 1 lakh devotees from across the State are expected to participate in the procession, which will have colourful idols of deities lined up. The temples on the route have been decked up and several food and water camps will be set up by the devotees on Friday. Traditional dance and martial arts performers from different parts of the country will exhibit their art during the procession.

The police, on their part, are deploying bomb detection and disposal squads, Rapid Action Force, Commissioner’s Task Force teams, Quick Response Team and City Riot Control Police at strategic locations. Police pickets will be posted at different communally sensitive places.

Senior police officials will monitor the procession from the command and control centre. The police will also deploy policemen in plain clothes and She Teams to prevent harassment of women. The traffic police had issued an advisory informing of traffic diversions on the procession route.
