Nirmal SI arrested by ACB for accepting Rs 20,000 bribe from real estate agent

Theegala Ashok, Sub-Inspector in Mamada mandal, Nirmal, was arrested by the ACB for accepting a Rs 20,000 bribe from a real estate agent to avoid registering a cheating case. He was produced in Karimnagar court and sent to judicial remand.

Nirmal SI arrested by ACB for accepting Rs 20,000 bribe from real estate agent

Nirmal: A police Sub-Inspector was arrested by sleuths of Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB), while he was allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 20,000 from a real estate agent in Mamada mandal centre on Thursday.

ACB officials said that Theegala Ashok, Mamada SI was apprehended when he was receiving the bribe from a real estate agent not to register a cheating case against him. Ashok was reportedly harassing the agent demanding a bribe of Rs 40,000. He agreed to accept Rs 20,000 and was caught red-handed while accepting the bribe.


A case was registered against Ashok and investigations were taken up. He was produced before a special court for ACB cases in Karimnagar. He was sent to judicial remand.
