Devotee writes Rama on 4,100 rice grains in Sangareddy

Sangareddy: An ardent devotee of Lord Rama, Dundigalla Padma has written “Rama” in Telugu on 4,100 rice grains. The effort stood as a testament to her devotion, patience and grit, as Padma took nearly 10 days, spending three hours a day. Padma, a resident of Bachepally in Nizampet mandal, wanted to do something different to express her devotion to Lord Rama during Rama Navami. She started writing on the grains ahead of Sri Rama Navami in 2025. However, she could write only on 1,500 grains after a week-long effort last year. However, she started a bit early this year and completed writing on 4,100 grains.

Speaking to Telangana Today, Padma said that she had presented the grains to Lord Rama temples located at Ramireddipet and Bachepally, where the priests will mix them with Akshanthalu (sacred yellow rice). Padma’s husband Siddiramulu, who is also an ardent devotee, has presented a share of them to another temple located near Dubbak in Siddipet district. Stating that she could complete the task with ease with the support of her husband and two daughters, Padma said that they participate in the Rama Navami celebrations every year with much devotion. Though it tests patience a bit, the Lord Rama devotee said that she loves doing it. She added that she would continue to do it every year until things permit her. Lord Rama devotees and priests have appreciated Padma’s efforts.
