Harish Rao asks Revanth Reddy to restore development funds worth Rs 1,070 crore

Hyderabad: Ahead of Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy’s visit to Siddipet on March 22, BRSLP deputy leader and Siddipet MLA T Harish Rao demanded him to restore Rs 1,070 crore development funds for Siddipet constituency. While the previous BRS government sanctioned the funds, the current Congress regime cancelled them after assuming power.

Welcoming the Chief Minister’s first official visit to his constituency, Harish Rao accused him of neglecting Siddipet for the past 27 months and acting with envy and malice towards the Assembly segment. He said Rs 1,070.73 crore had been allocated earlier for multiple development works during the previous BRS government, but the cancellation of the funds stalled projects midway and even delayed payments for completed works.

The BRSLP deputy leader listed several stalled projects, including a government veterinary college, Ranganayaka Sagar tourism project, Komaticheruvu Shilparamam, Siddipet Outer Ring Road, agriculture college at Thornala, women’s degree college building at Mittapalli, sports hub, police station buildings, road expansion works and a multipurpose auditorium, among others.

He urged the Chief Minister to reinstate the allocation and ensure that the pending works are resumed immediately. He said the government should clear pending funds and complete the projects instead of acting vindictively towards the constituency.
