GHMC raid in Parsigutta: 800 kg stale chicken seized from shop

Hyderabad: In a joint operation, officials from GHMC and the Task Force on Tuesday raided a chicken shop in the Parsigutta area and booked the owner for allegedly storing and selling chicken that had been kept for several days.

During the inspection, officials found that the shop, A1 Fresh Chicken, had been allegedly un-hygienically storing and selling chicken that had been kept for several days. A case was booked and the shop owner and others.

Authorities reportedly seized around 800 kg of stale chicken from the premises.

Officials suspect the meat was being supplied to various wine shops, bars and restaurants in the city, raising serious concerns over public health and hygiene standards.

It is learnt that the shop had been operating without a valid licence, which had expired in January this year. Officials said efforts were underway to identify other shops linked to the illegal supply chain.
