Hyderabad: BRS working president KT Rama Rao participated in a Dawat-e-Iftar organised by the Bharat Rashtra Samithi at Telangana Bhavan in Banjara Hills on Monday and extended Ramzan greetings to the Muslim community.

Speaking on the occasion, Rama Rao said the Congress government had failed to fulfil promises made to minorities and had not implemented assurances given in its Minority Declaration. He said the BRS would raise the issue during the ongoing Assembly session and expose the government’s alleged betrayal of minority communities.

Recalling the previous BRS government led by former Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao, he said Telangana had progressed while maintaining communal harmony. He said the BRS continued the spirit of Ganga-Jamuna Tehzeeb of Telangana and accused the present government of neglecting those values.

Several BRS leaders, elected representatives and members of the minority community attended the Iftar programme and participated in the event.
