Hyderabad: BRS chief and former Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao congratulated noted poet and writer Nandini Sidda Reddy on being selected for the Sahitya Akademi Award for 2025, calling it a proud moment for Telangana.
In a statement, Chandrashekhar Rao said the award to Sidda Reddy for his poetry collection “Animesha”, which reflects the global crisis during the COVID-19 pandemic and the strain on human relationships, was well deserved. He termed Sidda Reddy as a poet who captured the spirit and cultural essence of Telangana through his writings.
He remembered that Sidda Reddy founded the Manjeera Writers’ Association in Medak and used his literary work to highlight social issues and advocate equality. He also recalled the poet’s role during the Telangana movement, stating that his songs and poetry inspired people and strengthened the voice for statehood.
