US, Israel seeking to disintegrate Islamic states: Pezeshkian

President Pezeshkian made the remarks late on Friday in a telephone conversation with his Egyptian counterpart Abdel Fattah el Sisi late on Friday, emphasizing that Washington and Tel Aviv do not tolerate the presence of regional powers such as Iran, Egypt, Turkey, and Saudi Arabia in the region.

During the phone call, the two presidents exchanged their views on the latest regional and international developments following criminal US and Israeli military aggression against Iran.

Pezeshkian said Iran had been engaged in the negotiations process when it was attacked again, stating, “It was proved that Washington was not seeking a genuine resolution.”

Turning to the malicious objectives of the terrorist US government and criminal Zionist regime to weaken and disintegrate Iran and major Islamic states, he stressed that US and Israel do not tolerate major Islamic countries like Iran, Egypt, Turkey and Saudi Arabia to be present in the region.

Elsewhere in his remarks, President Pezeshkian referred to the shameful claims of the US president in accusing the noble nation of Iran of being terrorist, adding that the US and Israeli aggressors have massacred the leaders, scientists, commanders and ordinary people of Iran and also slaughtered schoolchildren on streets and public gatherings.

Pezeshkian also called on the Islamic countries to remain vigilant against attempts to create divisions within the Muslim world.

He welcomed any initiatives by regional states to strengthen unity, restore stability and promote peace.

Furthermore, President Pezeshkian added that millions of Iranians had taken to the streets nationwide on the International Quds Day despite threats and military attacks, demonstrating their support for Iran and the Palestinian cause.

The president of Egypt, for his part, expressed condolences over the martyrdom of Iranian citizens in the recent US-Israeli aggression, reiterating Egypt’s opposition to war, instability and insecurity in the region.

El Sisi stressed the importance of resolving disputes through diplomacy and warned that continued conflict could threaten regional and global stability, urging all parties to exercise restraint.

Egypt is ready to take any effort for ending the war and restoring peace and security to the region, the president of Egypt added.
