Tension at Hormuz Strait result of US-Israeli aggression

Mousavi, who is also Iran’s permanent representative to the International Maritime Organization (IMO), made the remarks in a meeting with the secretary general of IMO headquartered in London.

Turning to the illegal US-Israeli aggression against Iran, Mousavi said that the US and Israel launched a war of aggression in the Persian Gulf region and Iran is defending itself based on the UN Charter and within the framework of its inherent right of self-defense against the aggression.

He then pointed to the current situation at the Strait of Hormuz, emphasizing that tension in the Strait of Hormuz is the result of illegal and violating measures taken by the US and Israeli regime, so that US and Israel are responsible for any tension or the dire consequences in the region.

Elsewhere in his remarks, the envoy pointed to the threat raised by the US Central Command (CENTCOM) against Iran’s civilian maritime installations and ports, adding that these threats are a gross violation of the international law and the UN charter.

He called on the international community, especially the International Maritime Organization (IMO), to condemn the US-Israeli aggression against Iran and adopt necessary measures in this regard.
