
During the phone call, the two top diplomats exchanged their views on the mutual ties, recent developments in the region and also US-Israeli aggression against Iran.
Araghchi briefed his Sri Lankan counterpart on the latest situation in the region caused by the US and Israeli aggression against Iran, hailing the unsparing efforts of the government of Sri Lanka for offering quality relief and rescue services to the sailors of Dena destroyer in the course of the brutal and illegal attack of the terrorist US government on the Iranian destroyer as well as paving suitable way for transferring the bodies of 84 martyrs to their homeland.
Iranian Dena destroyer came under attack by a US submarine at the coasts of Sri Lanka early on March 4 while returning from its mission from a naval drill with India and was sunk by a US submarine.
More than 80 crew members of the destroyer were martyred.
The attack was launched without any prior warning.
