Hyderabad police suspend constable over indiscipline, call suicide claim misleading

Hyderabad: The City Police have termed the allegations made by constable M Yadagiri (PC 6211) against senior officers as baseless and misleading.

The constable, attached to the Jubilee Hills Zone Women Police Station, was suspended on Saturday for alleged indiscipline and dereliction of duty.

Police, in a statement, said Yadagiri frequently skipped roll calls, neglected duties and allegedly demanded money from victims visiting the station for counselling.

Soon after receiving his suspension orders, he reportedly circulated a selfie video on WhatsApp claiming he was attempting suicide due to harassment by senior officers, they said.

Officials stated the video was an attempt to deflect attention from the disciplinary action. They also noted that Yadagiri had faced similar allegations and suspensions during previous postings. The police urged the public not to believe the fabricated video circulating on social media.
