A fire broke out at a row of shops near Masjid-e-Tauheed on Qutb Shahi Tombs Road in Hyderabad on Friday night, damaging property and triggering LPG cylinder explosions. Around 1,500 worshippers were present nearby. No casualties were reported.

Hyderabad: A fire broke out at shops located at Qutb Shahi Tombs road on Friday night resulting in damage to huge property. No casualties were reported.
According to reports, the fire broke out at a tyres shop located near the Masjid e Tauheed, and spread to a gas stoves repair shops. Around 1500 people were present at the mosque at the time of the fire incident.
“People were busy in prayers when fire started. They were relocated from the place for sometime. Fire tenders arrived and reached the spot and contained the fire,” said Syed Rashed Farazuddin, former corporator Tolichowki.
The fire officials suspect the fire started following a short circuit in a shop. A few small LPG cylinders kept in the gas stove repair shop reportedly exploded during the fire.
The police and fire department are investigating.
