Bandi Sanjay seeks action against Congress MLA over remarks on Hindu gods

Karimnagar: Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Bandi Sanjay Kumar demanded action against Thungathurthy MLA Mandula Samuel for allegedly humiliating Hindu gods, stating that the police should register a criminal case against the legislator for attempting to disturb communal harmony through provocative remarks.

Sanjay Kumar made these comments while launching his yatra to the Kondagattu temple here on Saturday.

Referring to the swearing-in ceremony of Manakondur MLA Dr Kavvampally Satyanarayana as TPCC SC Cell chairman at Gandhi Bhavan in Hyderabad, he alleged that Samuel made objectionable remarks against Hindu gods during the programme.

He also alleged that TPCC president Mahesh Kumar Goud and other Congress leaders present on the dais supported the comments by applauding. “First, the Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy should apologise to the Hindu society and suspend the MLA from the party,” he said.

The Union Minister also demanded that Samuel be barred from contesting elections and warned the MLA over his prospects in the next election.

Sanjay Kumar, along with newly elected sarpanches, ward members, councillors and corporators, is taking out a yatra from Karimnagar to Kondagattu.
