Speaking to Iranian media on the sidelines of a rally held in downtown Tehran to commemorate the International Quds Day, General Ramezan Sharif said that the Quds Day, which was designated by late founder of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Khomeini is commemorated each year with the participation of a large number of people around the world.
The former IRGC spokesman added that since the start of the Iraqi Baathist regime war on Iran in 1980, the Iranians from all walks of life have poured into the streets regardless of the severe climatic conditions.
General Ramezan Sharif added that the turnout to this year’s Quds Day marches carries a clear message which is the Americans and the Zionists have not been able to know Iranian nation.
He said that the US and Zionist regime’s failure to know the Iranians fooled them into launching the war on Iran while they have faced a big defeat.
