Police in Karimnagar arrested five persons, including a minor, allegedly involved in a March 11 roadside robbery of RMP T. Komuraiah near Nedunur. The accused reportedly threw chilli powder at the victim, stealing a gold chain and Rs 1,000 cash.

Karimnagar: Police arrested five accused persons allegedly involved in a roadside robbery in which a Registered Medical Practitioner (RMP) was relieved of gold ornaments and cash. This incident took place near Nedunur of Thimmapur mandal on March 11 night. Producing the accused before the media here on Friday, Commissioner of Police Gaush Alam said the victim T Komuraiah, hailing from Gundlapalli was practicing as RMP.
While he was returning home from Nedunur on a motorcycle, he was followed by the accused persons in a car. When he reached near to a mango orchard on the outskirts of Nedunur at around 11.30 pm, burglars waylaid him by placing the car across the road. They threw chilly powder at his eyes and fled with gold chain and Rs 1,000 cash.
Based on the complaint by the victim, police began investigation by registering the case. While conducting vehicle checking at Indiranagar cross roads on Friday morning, police found a car moving under suspicious circumstances. On checking, cops found the five accused involved in the RMP attack incident. They also confessed the crime. They are Penugonda Abhinaizer, Pambala Nagaraju of Gundlapalli, Gujjetti Madhuvardhan of Botlavanaparthy of Peddapalli, Macharla Ramcharan Goud of Sultanabad and minor boy. A car, one tola of gold chain, four mobile phones and Rs1000 cash were recovered from them.
