
Speaking in a session of the UN Security Council, he reacted to the approving a resolution against Iran, emphasizing that approval of anti-Iran resolution has inflicted a serious blow to the credibility of the UN Security Council which leaves a lasting stain on its record.
The adoption of the resolution is a clear injustice against Iran that is the main victim of a clear and aggressive act, Iravani underlined.
What was happened at the UN Security Council indicates that the political considerations have supremacy over the UN Charter, he continued.
The resolution distorts the existing facts and ignores the root cause of the current crisis deliberately, he said, adding that the United States and Israeli regime began war against Iran on February 28.
He went on to say that Iran will continue to exercise right to defend its national sovereignty and territorial integrity.
The US and Israel waged an unprovoked war of aggression against Iran on Feb. 28 which led to the martyrdom of Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, he stressed.
The US-Israeli war against Iran has so far led to the killing of more than 1,348 civilians and also injuring more than 17,000.
The United Nations Security Council approved a draft resolution against Iran, calling Iran’s defensive attacks a violation of the law without condemning the aggressions committed by the United States and Zionist regime against Iran.
The council approved the draft Persian Gulf-Jordan resolution on Iran’s attacks by a majority of 13 votes, while Russia and China abstained.
