Control over Iran’s oil reserves main aim behind aggression

In a post on X late Monday, Baghaei shared a link to an article circulated by the White House spokesperson, saying it openly explains the strategic objective behind Washington’s actions.

The spokesperson wrote, “This article endorsed by White House Press Secretary explicitly states that the primary objective of U.S. and Israeli aggression against Iran is to seize control of Iran’s oil reserves, which represent the ‘final piece of the puzzle’ in a broader strategy to dominate global energy supplies.”

“It argues that, following US control over Venezuela’s oil sector and continued influence over Persian Gulf production, securing Iran’s oil would severely restrict China’s access to affordable energy—thereby curbing its technological and economic ascent,” Baghaei added.

He said, “As emphasized previously, Iran is not merely defending itself against this brutal war of aggression; it is defending the very principles of sovereignty and self-determination, the future of our region, and the broader interests of the global community.”

“This is a truly global issue that concerns independence, sovereignty, respect for international norms, and equitable access to energy resources.”

“It should alarm everyone, our neighbors in the region, our partners in the Global South, regional organizations, and people around the world to the reality that our struggle is also theirs—for sovereignty, for freedom, for energy justice, and for a law-based international order free from domination by bullying power politics,” he concluded.
