Women’s Day celebrated with fervour in Telangana’s Mancherial

Mancherial: International Women’s Day was celebrated on a colourful note here on Tuesday with district officials and public representatives highlighting the importance of women’s welfare and empowerment.

Collector Kumar Deepak attended the event as chief guest, while Mancherial Municipal Corporation Mayor Dharani Madhu also participated in the celebrations. Kumar said the government was giving paramount importance to the welfare and economic growth of women in the State.


Women officers from various departments were felicitated by the dignitaries, while cultural programmes presented by women artistes enthralled the audience. Traditional dance form Kolatam, performed by a local troupe, was the special attraction of the celebrations. Artistes were honoured by the Collector and other guests on the occasion.

Luxettipet Municipal Chairperson Anjali, senior officials, members of self-help groups and women employees from several departments attended the event.
