A 32-year-old software engineer from Maharashtra died by suicide at her rented apartment in Kondapur, Hyderabad, on Monday night. Police suspect work-related stress. The incident came to light after her flatmate found her hanging and alerted other residents.

Hyderabad: A 32-year-old software engineer died by suicide, allegedly due to work-related stress, at her residence in Kondapur on Monday night.
According to Gachibowli Inspector Balaraju, the woman identified as Monu Shree, a native of Maharashtra, had moved to the city some time ago for work. She was employed as a software engineer at an IT company in Gachibowli and was staying in a rented apartment at Masjid Banda in Kondapur.
She was visibly upset for the past few days and on Monday, she hung from the ceiling fan in her apartment. When she did not come out of her room until evening, her flatmate, identified as Durga Bhavani, who lives in another room in the same apartment, went to check on her.
Upon opening the door, she found the woman hanging and immediately alerted the other residents.
The Gachibowli police reached the spot and took up investigation.
The woman’s father reportedly told the police that she had been under work-related stress for the past few days.
Police said all possible angles are being investigated.
