Khammam police booked 43 persons, including Telangana Jagruthi president K Kavitha, for allegedly provoking Velugumatla displaced families to stage a dharna at the ZP Centre without permission. A female constable fainted and two others were injured during the incident

Khammam: ACP (Town) SVS Ramana Murthy informed that as many as 43 persons were booked for allegedly provoking Velugumatla displaced families to stage a dharna at the ZP Centre without permission.
Dharma Samaj Party state president Visharadhan Maharaj and Telangana Jagruthi president K Kavitha were among the 43 persons booked by the police. They allegedly instigated the families staying at Ambedkar Bhavan to sit on the roads for three hours on Monday, causing inconvenience to motorists and obstructing police from performing their duties, the ACP said.
Of the 43 persons, 33 were from Nizamabad, Wanaparthy, Nalgonda, Kamareddy, Hanmakonda, Hyderabad, Warangal and other places and have no connection with Khammam district. Similarly, some displaced persons allegedly attacked female constables and, after examining the video footage, cases would be registered against them.
It was said that a female constable fell unconscious in the attack, while two others suffered injuries.
