Women write to Sonia, Rahul and Priyanka Gandhi seeking implementation of Congress poll guarantees

Adilabad: Women have sent letters to Congress leaders Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi seeking implementation of the six guarantees promised by the Congress during the Assembly polls. Marking International Women’s Day, they wrote and sent the letters through the postal department at Mukhra (K) village in Echoda mandal on Sunday.

The women recalled that the Congress won the mandate of electors by assuring to extend a monthly financial support of Rs.2,500 to women, a tola of gold to brides apart from Kalyana Lakshmi and scooters to women degree students. However, the party duped the women by failing to keep its word. Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy was misleading the electors by pledging on the names of Gods whenever the State sees polls, they alleged.

The women demanded Sonia, Rahul and Priyanka to immediately implement the assurances and to fulfill the promises at the earliest. Former MPTC member Gadge Subhash, former Sarpanch Meenakshi, Devasala, Saroja and Laxmi were present.
