Khammam: Celebration of Holi turned painful for gate Relakayalapalli village sarpanch’s husband in Karepally mandal of the district.
The sarpanch Keloth Manga’s husband, Bansi, was attacked with boiling water by some villagers, sparking turmoil in the village.
According to locals, Bansi was invited to celebrate Holi by a few villagers while he was returning home after Holi celebrations on Wednesday evening.
However, instead of applying colour, the miscreants poured boiling water on him, causing burn injuries. As Bansi started shouting in pain, they fled the scene. Locals responded immediately and shifted him to a hospital, where the doctors said his condition was stable.
It is suspected that political rivalry in the village might have caused the attack. The sarpanch lodged a complaint with the local police regarding the incident, seeking action against the culprits.
