Hyderabad: A heated argument between two brothers allegedly under the influence of alcohol ended in a tragic murder of one of them in Miyapur on Tuesday night.
The incident occurred in P.A. Nagar where the duo identified as Raju (27), who was an auto-rickshaw driver and his younger brother, Guruswamy, a school bus driver who lived with their mother. Both are unmarried.
Police said the brothers had been frequently quarrelling over minor issues for the past fortnight reportedly after consuming alcohol.
On Tuesday night, another argument broke out between them while they were intoxicated. In a fit of rage, Guruswamy allegedly picked up a stone and struck Raju forcefully on the head. Raju collapsed on the spot and died instantly due to the severe head injury.
On receiving information, the Miyapur police reached the spot and took up investigation. Based on a complaint lodged by their mother, a case has been registered and investigated.
The suspect has been taken into custody, police said, adding that further details will emerge during the probe.
