Hyderabad: A late night mobilisation drill involving hundreds of police personnel was carried out at the Hockey Grounds in Masab Tank on Tuesday.
Around 650 personnel from Home Guards to Assistant Commissioners of Police attached to various police stations in the Golconda Zone participated in the drill.
Senior police officials said the focus was on testing how swiftly and effectively officers could assemble at a designated point in the event of a sudden law and order situation or other emergency.
During the mock exercise, teams were assessed on response time, coordination and adherence to the chain of command. Officials also inspected essential equipment, including public address systems, riot control gear and other emergency paraphernalia to ensure they were in working condition.
Senior officers briefed participants on the importance of seamless coordination between field staff and zonal control units during critical incidents. The drill simulated a scenario requiring rapid mobilization and deployment to contain potential unrest.
Addressing the personnel, DCP Chandra Mohan emphasized that public safety remains the foremost responsibility of the police force and that readiness at any hour is crucial.
Such exercises, he said, help improve discipline, communication and operational efficiency, enabling quicker assistance to the public during emergencies.
The midnight drill was part of a broader initiative by Hyderabad Police to reinforce visible policing and ensure a robust response system across all zones.
