Adilabad: Mancherial district BRS president Balka Suman alleged that he was subjected to harassment by the Congress while under remand in jail for winning the Kyathanpalli municipality.
He, along with other BRS leaders Mula Raji Reddy, Anil and Laxmikanth were released on bail from jail here on Wednesday.
Speaking to the media soon after emerging from the jail, Suman accused the Congress of targeting him for dealing a blow to the Congress in Kyathanpalli municipality. He charged that the Labour Minister was not respecting the mandate of the electors.
He alleged that he was not allowed to celebrate the Holi festival and birthday of his son as he was not released from the jail even after getting bail on Monday itself.
The district president slammed the Congress for indulging in witch-hunt politics. He recalled that the BRS did not target any public representative in its 10-year-long regime.
Suman regretted that police resorted to lathi-charge for questioning them as to why they allowed the minister’s convoy, while preventing the leaders of the BRS from attending a special meeting held to elect the governing council of Kyathanpalli municipality. He wondered as to how the Congress would win the chairperson’s post of the civic body as it won just 7 wards out of 22 wards.
