Israel-Iran tension: International flight operations cancelled

Hyderabad: International flight operations faced significant disruption at Rajiv Gandhi International Airport (RGIA) on Saturday after several Gulf-bound services were cancelled amid escalating tensions in West Asia.

Airlines operating out of Hyderabad suspended multiple departures following the temporary closure of airspace over the United Arab Emirates and other Gulf nations. The precautionary restrictions were announced as the ongoing Iran-Israel conflict intensified, prompting carriers to reassess routes and flight safety.

Among the cancelled departures from Hyderabad were services to Doha, Sharjah, Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Kuwait, Dammam and Ras Al Khaimah. An inbound flight from Abu Dhabi to Hyderabad was also cancelled.

Aviation officials indicated that further schedule changes may occur depending on how long the regional airspace restrictions remain.

Normal operations are expected to resume once the affected airspace is reopened and deemed safe for civil aviation movement.
