E Kasheem scored a brilliant 124 not out as Sports XI Cricket Club defeated Avengers Cricket Club by three wickets to win the 39th D Sekhar Rao Memorial Cricket Tournament final at VDCA-B Ground in Visakhapatnam

Hyderabad: E Kasheem cracked a century (124 n.o., 94b, 5×4, 5×6) to help Sports XI Cricket Club defeat Avengers Cricket Club by three wickets in the final of the 39th D Sekhar Rao Memorial Cricket Tournament at VDCA-B Ground in Visakhapatnam on Thursday.
Batting first, Avengers scored 279 for eight in 40 overs, thanks to a fine century by N Satish (121, 65b, 2×4, 14×6).
In reply, Sports XI CC achieved the target in 38 overs with Kasheem, who was named ‘Player of the Final’, batting brilliantly.
The scores: Final: Avengers CC 279/8 in 40 overs (N Satish 121, G Jagadeesh 57, Vamsi Reddy 34, K Yaswanth 3/67, V David 2/40) lost to Sports XI CC 283/7 in 38 overs (E Kasheem 124 n.o., N Vijay Kumar 37, N Yashneil 2/20).
