Tension grips Balapur following temple desecration in Hyderabad

Unidentified persons allegedly damaged idols at the Sri Sri Devamukha Anjaneya Swamy temple in Hyderabad’s Balapur Road area on Monday night. The incident was discovered by the local priest the next morning, prompting the temple committee to alert police.

Tension grips Balapur following temple desecration in Hyderabad

Hyderabad: Tension prevailed on Balapur road after unidentified persons allegedly damaged idols at the Sri Sri Devamukha Anjanyaya Swamy temple on Monday night.

According to the police, some persons had damaged the iron grill at the temple and after entering into the premises damaged the idols. The incident came to light in the morning when the local priest visited the temple and noticed it.


On being informed, the temple committee members alerted the police. The police, including the ACP Chandrayangutta S Sudhakar, reached the spot and inspected the place.

Following the incident, the police beefed up security in the Maqbool colony area where the temple is located. Leaders of Hindu organisations have reached the spot.
