The Telangana Police’s EAGLE team forfeited properties worth Rs 6.88 crore belonging to eight accused in a 2024 Sangareddy Alprazolam case linked to 18 deaths. Officials said the market value of the seized assets exceeds Rs 33 crore.

Hyderabad: The EAGLE force team of the Telangana police forfeited properties valued at Rs 6.88 crores, allegedly earned illegally by eight individuals who are cited as accused in a manufacturing and sale of Alprazolam case at Sangareddy.
A case was registered in 2024, against 18 persons following death of 18 persons due to consumption of adulterated Alprazolam. The police had arrested the persons and identified their properties.
“During investigation, we identified properties that include agricultural land, bank accounts, cars, plots, villas and independent houses. After analysis, we determined that the properties were acquired through illegal sale of Alprazolam. After approaching the SAFEMA, we got a favourable order and forfeited the properties of eight suspects,” said an official of EAGLE.
The market value of the properties is much higher and estimated to be over Rs 33 crores.
