Sangareddy: Several parts of the erstwhile Medak district experienced untimely rains coupled with hailstorms and gales on Monday. Crops, particularly mango orchards, vegetable crops, maize, and other crops, were damaged.
The cattle shed of a farmer collapsed at Dharmaram village in Mirudoddi mandal due to strong winds, leaving several cattle injured. The farmer reportedly suffered losses of Rs 6 lakh. In Siddipet district, Dubbak, Mirudoddi, Komuravelly, Cheriyal, Dhoolmitta, and Maddur mandals and parts of other areas received rains.
The unseasonal rains also lashed several parts of Narayankhed constituency in Sangareddy, while Medak district received rains at isolated places. The agriculture and horticulture departments were on the job to assess the impact of the rains.
