Three injured after idli steamer explosion at Chutney’s restaurant in LB Nagar

Hyderabad: Three employees were reportedly injured after an idli steamer exploded at Chutney’s restaurant in LB Nagar on Friday noon hours, causing panic among customers.

According to information available, a loud blast was heard from the kitchen area, prompting diners to rush out of the premises in fear.


Hotel staff immediately alerted the local police and fire department and shifted the injured workers to a nearby private hospital for treatment. Their injuries are reported to be non-life-threatening and their condition is said to be stable.

The LB Nagar police reached the spot and took up investigation.

Officials suspect that excessive pressure inside the cooking equipment may have led to the explosion, but the exact cause will be determined after a technical inspection.
