Four-day State-level archery competitions begin in Khammam

The four-day State-level archery competitions under CM’s Cup-2026 began at Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel Stadium in Khammam on Friday, with 230 players from across Telangana participating in the event inaugurated by Commissioner of Police Sunil Dutt.

Four-day State-level archery competitions begin in Khammam

Khammam: Four-day State-level archery competitions held as part of CM’s Cup-2026 got underway at Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel Stadium here on Friday.

Commissioner of Police Sunil Dutt launched the competitions. As many as 230 players from various districts across Telangana are taking part in the event.


Addressing the players, the CP asked them to show their best talent to excel in the State-level event. He hoped that the event would enhance the spirit of sportsmanship among the players. Stating that participation was important, the CP told the players to make continuous efforts without fear of defeat.

The competitions were being organised to encourage youth and students to stay away from anti-social activities and actively participate in sports, as well as strengthening rural sports and uncovering hidden talents at the rural level, Dutt noted.

District Youth and Sports Officer Sunil Kumar Reddy, District Archery Association president Sarangapani, secretary Putta Shankaraiah, treasurer Gongura Venkateswarlu, Khammam District Olympic Association secretary Christopher Babu, School Games Federation secretary Rama Rao among others were present.
