Khammam: The four-day annual feast of the famous Karunagiri Shrine will commence on February 27, informed Khammam Catholic Diocese Bishop Sagili Prakash.
He released the publicity poster of the Karunagiri Shrine Festival at Bishop House in Naidupeta along with religious leaders. A large number of devotees from Telangana and Andhra Pradesh states will attend the prestigious festival, he said.
The religious activities of the festival will begin with a flag-hoisting ceremony on February 21 and special prayers will be offered by religious leaders from various shrines every day from 5:30 pm to March 1.
On February 27, 28 and March 1, Mangalagiri VC Divine Mercy Retreat Centre main speaker Reverend Father Jaison will offer healing prayers every morning and evening. On March 2, at 10 am, the grand feast Mass and special prayers will be conducted by the Hyderabad Archbishop Cardinal Pula Anthony and Bishop Dr. Prakash.
Karunagiri Director Johannes, Vicar General Father Tappati Shourie, Procurator Father Surepalli Isaac, Father Thudum Vijaya Kumar, religious teachers, sisters and officials of various management committees were present at the poster launch.
