Under the FIFA and AIFF-backed Football for Schools Programme, the Telangana Football Association distributed 19,502 footballs to 3,171 schools across the State to promote grassroots football and encourage sports participation among schoolchildren.

Hyderabad: Telangana Football Association, under the banner of FIFA, All India Football Federation (AIFF), distributed football alls in 3171 schools across Telangana.
TFA Secretary G. Palguna informed that the programme was part of the prestigious Football for Schools Programme.
” Through this initiative, 19,502 footballs were distributed to promote grassroots football development and encourage sports participation among school children throughout the state,” he said.
“Further, 428 schools from three districts Rangareddy, Vikarabad, and Medchal Malkajgiri were benefited through the distribution of 3,191 footballs at PM Shri Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya Rangareddy on 14-02-2026,” TFA official said.
He requested all the school Physical Directors to take advantage of this scheme and to focus on grassroots football development in Telangana.
The event was graced by Mr. Arekapudi Gandhi, Serilingampally MLA, Mr. Palguna, who is also thw AIFF Executive Committee Member.
