Hyderabad: Gurunath Dame of Telangana won a gold medal in singles and sa ilver medal in doubles in tennis in the Abu Dhabi Masters Games.
Gurunath defeated Ccandrika Nihdityawan 6-0, 6-2 in the semi-final and then recorded 6-3,6-1 win against Daniel Rolinson of Great Britain in the final.
In the doubles final, Girish and Pandey defeated Gurunath and Srikanth 6-2, 6-4.

Rajesh hogs limelight in drawn tie
G Rajesh Sekhar (116, 186b, 20×4) hogged the limelight for Hyderabad in the drawn match against Kerala in the South Zone Inter-state cricket tournament at Vizianagaram on Sunday.
The scores: Kerala 445/6 d in 75 overs (Vasisht Arun 124, Arjun V Nair 56, Aaron Alex 133 n.o., Edwin Eldhose 50 n.o., Venkat Sagar 2/61) drawn with Hyderabad 236/1 in 76.3 Overs (G Rakesh Sekhar 116, M Dakshdeep 50, Vasisht Arun 3/32) & 129/2 in 28 overs (CV Chetan Aditya 50, CH Ritesh Reddy 53 n.o.).

Easy wins for YMCA Secunderabad, Titans
YMCA Secunderabad and Titans scored comfortable victories over YMCA Hyderabad (60-43) and G9 (70-53) to enter the semi-final league finals of the sixth Samuel Vasanth Kumar Memorial Basketball Tournament conducted by Sports Writers Association of Telangana (SWAT) under the aegis of the Hyderabad District Basketball Association at YMCA Secunderabad.
The league finals will commence from Monday onwards.
YMCA Hyderabad started well with Vishwa & Sumit scoring five points apiece. Vamshi of YMCA Sec-bad scored four consecutive baskets, and with Dennis netting a three-pointer, YMCA Sec-bad closed the quarter 13-10.
In the second quarter, Krish joined Sumit on the scoring board for YMCA Hyderabad. However, Rakesh upped his game to score 13 of the 23 points scored by YMCA Secunderabad to extend the lead to 36-25 at halftime.
After the lemon break, YMCA Secunderabad tightened their defence to restrict YMCA Hyderabad to just 6 points, and in turn, YMCA Secunderabad’s Rakesh scored 12 consecutive points to extend the lead further, 50-31.
In the last quarter, YMCA Hyderabad tried hard to recover, but the gap was too much to recover. YMCA Secunderabad’s Sri Harsha used his height to good effect, scoring 8 points in the quarter as YMCA Secunderabad finally prevailed 60-43.
In another match Titans displayed exceptional defence and offence to breeze past G9 70-53 after leading 53-35 at halftime.
