Hyderabad: A 34 year-old man, who was brutally attacked three days ago at Attapur by his colleagues, died while undergoing treatment on Saturday night at Gandhi Hospital.

According to the police, Abdul Salam Shaik (34), a native of Mumbai, resided at a shared accommodation with his friends at Upparpally and worked with a catering company.


On Thursday night, Salam along with his colleagues was present in the room when his team leader Saddam came and picked up a quarrel with him over some work related issue.

In a fit of rage, Saddam attacked Salam, with a sharp weapon leading to serious injuries. The injured man was rushed to a private hospital and later shifted to Gandhi Hospital where he was admitted after claiming he had suffered injuries after falling down from a DCM.

The doctors, on examining the injuries, informed the police, who then reached the spot and conducted enquiries. Based on the statements of Salam’s colleagues, the police registered a case of attempt-to-murder.

On Saturday night, during treatment, Salam died in the hospital. The police later altered the Sections of the case to murder and are investigating.
