PRCI Hyderabad celebrates World Radio Day with focus on AI and broadcasting

Hyderabad: The Public Relations Council of India (PRCI), Hyderabad Chapter, celebrated World Radio Day at Loyola Academy, Secunderabad, under the theme ‘Radio and Artificial Intelligence.’

The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from media professionals, academicians, students, and radio personalities, highlighting the continued relevance of radio in the digital and AI-driven era.


C. Rajagopal, Former Deputy Director General of All India Radio, noted that while Artificial Intelligence can assist Radio Jockeys in content programming and transcription, the human element remains central to impactful broadcasting. An interactive session featuring former Radio Jockeys Frederick Michael and K. Ravindran took students on a nostalgic journey to the 1980s, when radio dominated the media landscape.

Radio professionals from Magic FM, Radio City, and Big FM shared insights on radio’s evolving role in shaping careers, informing the younger generation. Rev. Fr. Peter, Vice-Principal of Loyola Academy, also participated.
