Medak: Missing her husband after more than 40 years of marital life, a woman died by suicide by jumping into a lake, barely four months after his death.
Akula Lakshmi (58), a resident of Chinna Chinthakunta in Narsapur mandal, had been in depression since her husband Shivaramulu died four months ago following ill health.
She went missing from her residence on Friday evening, and her body was found floating in a local lake on Saturday morning.
The incident left the couple’s two children in shock, having lost both parents within a gap of four months.
Their son, Sai Teja, who lodged a complaint at the Narsapur police station, stated that his mother was severely depressed after his father’s death and never appeared to recover from it.
SI Ranjith Kumar registered a case and took up investigation.
